Types of Water Damage

Water damage can be separated into three different categories. Our method of removal and restoration depends on the type of water damage we’re dealing with.

There are three primary types of water damage:

Type 1 water damage (clean water) – Clean water damage stems from rainwater or a freshwater supply pipe and is fairly safe and easy to clean.

Type 2 water damage (gray water) – Gray water damage is slightly contaminated, stemming from dishwashers, washing machines, etc.

Type 3 water damage (black water) – Black water is highly contaminated. It stems from groundwater flooding or sewage. For safety, only an expert should handle black water damage.
